Quasigeoid model for Poland E-mail

geoida-cm-200

In 2002-2005 the Institute of Geodesy and Cartogra- phy was a coordinator of the work of a team of specialists representing various disciplines of Earth science, aimed at a comprehensive study of modeling the centimeter- geoid based on the geo- detic, gravimetric, astro- nomical, geological and satellite data. The research project was funded by the Committee for Scientific Research.

osnowy

The A10 Absolute Gravimeter E-mail

a-10bDepartment of Geodesy and Geodyna- mics of IGiK is in possession of a modern Micro-g Lacoste A10 absolute gravimeter (serial number 20). The A10-020 gravi- meter is suited to both laboratory and field measurements. IGiK uses the gravimeter in the laboratory research work carried out in Geodetical-Geophysical Observatory "Borowa Góra" as well as in the field measurements at the points of the natio- nal gravimetric network.

The A10-020 gravimeter is an instrument that allows to measure the absolute value of gravity acceleration. It works under the principle of direct measurement of acceleration of the free falling object. The device is equipped with high quality laser interferometer and its own atomic frequency standard for the precise, simultaneous measurement of time and location of the free falling object placed in the high vacuum chamber.

The A10 measurement accuracy specified by the manufacturer is 10 μGal; the precision of the measurement is about 1 mG.The gravimeter is able to operate world-wide (in terms of range of variation of g), in the ambient temperature range of –15°C – 40°C.

IGiK has an experience and is prepared to perform measure- ments of gravity acceleration, both at home and abroad, beside the gravimeter, IGIK is in possession of car adapted to transport the gravimeter in the fieldwork conditions and conduct gravity survey.
