In 2008, the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography has started work on the technical specifications for the testing data sets listed in Annex I of Directive INSPIRE. This work leads on behalf of the Central Office of Geodesy and Cartography, together with the Polish Information Society.

Representatives of the Institute belong to a group of experts participating in the meetings of the Implementation of INSPIRE.

In March 2009, went Wszechnica GIS training project, funded by the Operational Program Human Capital. The aim of the project is to disseminate the achievements of science and the world in terms of methods of design and implementation of modern systems geoinformacyjnych. The project will be carried out training for staff R & D and the students. Detailed information about the dates and program of courses and the rules of recruitment will be available in June 2009.

Institute of Geodesy and Cartography has undertaken work in the EU's GMES program, executing the tasks covered by the project Geoland 2. Among them are the tasks relating to the use of satellite data in models agrometeorolo-organic, drought and changes in agricultural land use across Europe.

The project "The concept of a comprehensive information system for spatial-time events and historical sources on the example of the biblical ', work on the development of time-spatial information system for geographic objects and events. The main objective of the project was to propose the concept, development planning and implementation of the methodology in time-oriented information system for selected events of the Bible.
