Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe INSPIRE E-mail

In 2008, the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography has started work on the technical specifications for the testing data sets listed in Annex I of Directive INSPIRE. This work leads on behalf of the Central Office of Geodesy and Cartography, together with the Polish Information Society.

Representatives of the Institute belong to a group of experts participating in the meetings of the Implementation of INSPIRE.

The main work carried out by the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography concerning implemetation of the INSPIRE directive are:

  • tests of Polish spatial data for compliance with the specifications of the spatial data of the first thematic group INSPIRE
  • identification of sets and spatial data for I and II of the thematic group INSPIRE
  • developing the manuals and forms for the leading bodies to monitor implementation of the infrastructure for spatial information,
  • preparing reports describing the state of Polish spatial information Infrastructure.

The Institute also undertakes efforts for modeling the geographic information as well as integration and harmonization of spatial data.
