Participation of the IGiK Remote Sensing Centre in the Earth Observation Forum 2025

Karol Paradowski, Deputy Head of the Remote Sensing Centre at the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, took part in the Earth Observation Forum 2025, held on 5–6 November 2025 in Warsaw. The event, organised by the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) at the Golden Tulip Warsaw Centre Hotel, brought together representatives of public administration, research institutions and industry, creating a platform for exchanging experiences on the use of satellite data in decision-making processes. This year’s edition was held under the theme “Galactic Era.”

During the forum, Karol Paradowski delivered a presentation entitled “Satellite System for Monitoring Plant Growth Conditions for Agricultural Land Management.” The presentation covered both methods of satellite-based crop condition assessment and a wide range of agricultural support services developed within research, development, and implementation projects carried out by the Remote Sensing Centre. Solutions were presented that provide information at the level of individual fields—enabling seasonal monitoring and evaluation of crop conditions in farms—as well as regional and large-scale analyses used by public administration bodies and institutions responsible for agricultural land management. The systems showcased during the presentation highlighted the growing role of satellite data in modern agriculture and the potential for their further practical application.
