New article titled „From Geodata to Immersive Heritage Experiences: A Virtual Reality Case Study in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland” was released in ISPRS International Journal Geo-Information. The article focuses on geovisualization of the cultural heritage with gaming elements, using the example of Gorzów Wielkopolski, Lubusz Voivodeship, Poland. The article was written in collaboration between employees of Applied Geomatic Centre in Institute of Geodesy and Cartography (Natalia Wicińska and Anna Markowska) and employees of Poznan University of Life Sciences (Beata Medyńska-Gulij) and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Łukasz Halik). The article presents an immersive VR application that allows users to explore a virtual environment to learn about the city’s cultural heritage, collect postcards, and earn points for them. The application was evaluated by students, and the results of the study showed a positive assessment of the application’s educational potential and ability to convey knowledge about the city’s cultural heritage, but the realism of the vegetation rendering appears to be an area that needs improvement.
