A great success for IGiK! 🏆 First prize for the digital twin of the EU’s borders

On September 18, 2025, during the “10 Years of Copernicus at Frontex & Prize Award Ceremony” conference in Warsaw, a team representing the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography received 🥇 first prize in the Copernicus Border Surveillance Service Evolution / Digital Twin Prize Contest.

The competition was multi-stage, and the IGiK solution received high marks and recognition from the organizers at each stage, right up to the final presentation.

The award-winning solution involves the development of a digital twin of the EU’s external borders, which allows for precise simulation and optimization of the deployment of border surveillance systems.
