We cordially invite all interested to the seminar entitled “On the estimation of temporal variations of orthometric/normal height at proposed IHRF sites using GRACE/GRACE-FO data“. The seminar will be delivered by Samuel Milki Yadeta, MA. The seminar will take place on October 9, 2023 at the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography at 10:00 in the Conference Room on the 2nd floor. You will also be able to participate in the seminar online via the MS Teams application. Link to the meeting: LINK
The main objective of this research is to estimate the temporal variations of orthometric/normal height (ΔH/ΔH*) at proposed International Height Reference Frame (IHRF) sites using Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) and GRACE Follow-On (GRACE-FO) satellite mission data.
ΔH/ΔH* at the IHRF sites are determined with the use of the release 6 GRACE/GRACE-FO-based Global Geopotential Models, load Love numbers from the Preliminary Reference Earth Model, and the IGiK-TVGMF (Instytut Geodezji i Kartografii–Temporal Variations of Gravity/Mass Functionals) software.
The main findings reveal that seasonal and annual variations of ΔH/ΔH* at IHRF sites can reach up to several centimetres and approx. 1 cm, respectively.
