Ewa Agnieszka Panek-Chwastyk, PhD. Eng. is an assistant professor at the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography in Warsaw, Poland. She obtained her doctoral degree in agriculture in December 2021 with the dissertation entitled A comparison of the usefulness of spectral vegetation indices for the assessment of the field condition and the relationship with the yield of cereal crops based on various satellite data.
During her PhD studies she received, four times, pro-quality rector’s scholarship for the best PhD students. From 2012 to 2016 she did her engineering and master in ecological engineering studies at the Faculty of Agronomy and Biology at Warsaw University of Life Sciences (WULS). She completed each level of the studies program with honours. Dr. Ewa Panek-Chwastyk was a holder of the computational grant of Department of Agronomy and Biology (WULS): Comparison of vegetation indices in the assessment of the condition of selected agricultural crops based on satellite data from various platform, Researcher in European grant — Satellite-based Service for Variable Rate Nitrogen Application in Cereal Production, Project Manager in European Space Agency (ESA) grant: GAUSS – Generating Advanced Usage of Earth Observation for Smart Statistics, and Project Manager in ESA grant: EOStat Ukraine. She is experienced also in satellite data for agriculture and environmental analysis, in particular in programming in Python, JavaScript, Bash Unix shell, R and Fortran.
