Bioenergy and carbon balance

Bioenergy and carbon balance
The team conducts research in the field of bioenergy and carbon balance, focusing on the use of remote sensing to monitor energy crop plantations and estimate carbon dioxide emissions. Thanks to the use of advanced remote sensing techniques, the potential of biomass and its ability to sequester carbon are analyzed. Research is conducted on modeling the energy use of biomass, taking into account both its production and the greenhouse gas emissions associated with its use. Remote sensing systems enable the assessment of the efficiency of energy crops and their impact on the carbon balance, which supports the development of sustainable energy sources and climate protection policies.
