Recent Turkey earthquakes recorded at Borowa Góra Observatory

On the 6th of February 2023, both the AQG-B07 quantum gravimeter as well as the iGrav-027 superconducting gravimeter recorded at the Borowa Góra Geodetic Geophysical Observatory (located north of Warsaw, Poland) the gravity disturbance caused by seismic waves generated during the strong earthquakes of magnitude of 7.8 and 7.5 located in central Turkey.

Because of the closeness of the epicenter and the strength of the earthquake, gravity records were disrupted for several hours exceeding measurement capabilities of both instruments.

As indicated by the far more sensitive iGrav-027 gravimeter, free Earth oscillations - a result from the earthquakes - were still present even 3 days after the earthquake.
