Added on: 12 December 2024

On December 12-14, the International Warsaw Invention Exhibition IWIS 2023 has become a bastion of innovation, connecting experts, creative thinkers and technology enthusiasts from over 15 countries. As every year, the event was held under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda. The Exhibition's partner was the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland and the International Federation of Inventors' Associations IFIA. This event gathered over 200 innovative ideas that have the potential to revolutionize the world of technology.

Among the outstanding participants, the GPX main prize was awarded to the solution from theAGH University of Science and Technology. Stanisław Staszic in Krakow titled"Sorbent for the recovery of lithium from deposit brines prepared by 3D printing". The subject of the invention is a sorbent with high porosity and strictly controlled geometry intended for the recovery of lithium from brines. The basic raw material for its production is a light-curing resin highly filled with lithoselective powder based on aluminum oxide. The method of producing the sorbent involves printing shapes using the DLP technique and calcining them to partially burn the resin, which ultimately allows to obtain a porous ceramic sorbent with a strictly optimized shape.

The Special Award for the Best National Solution went to another team from the AGH University of Science and Technology. Stanisław Staszic in Krakowfor the solution entitled “Innovative internet platform for bilateral science-industry communication.” Chiang Mai University, Taiwan with its invention titled: The Circular Economical Production Process of High-Quality Porous Metal-Organic Framework Materials of Aluminumwas honored as Best Foreign Solution. The presented inventions are perfect examples of the scale with which such events inspire innovation and technological development.

Moreover, the presence of countries such as Croatia, Iran, Latvia, Nigeria, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand underlined the international character of this event, becoming a bridge of intercultural exchange in the field innovation.

The exhibition was accompanied by inspiring lectures, such as "Digitization of the Construction Process" presented by Mr. Jarosław Sosnowski and Tomasz Saciłowski from the Central Office of Construction Supervision, "The Strategic Role of Intelligent Sensor Systems in the Fields of Medical and Safety " delivered by the Deputy Commander of the Cyberspace Defense Forces Component for IT, Brig. Gen. Mariusz Chmielewski and "Innovative Internet Platform for Bilateral Communication between the World of Science and Business" presented by Dr. Hab. engineer Paweł Malinowski from the AGH University of Science and Technology, which enriched the discussions and broadened the participants' horizons.

The International Warsaw Invention Exhibition IWIS 2023 not only turned out to be a platform for presenting new ideas, but also a place where inspiration and knowledge created perfect conditions for technological development. We would like to thank the participants, speakers, partners and everyone who contributed to the success of this event.

Z poważaniem,
