The international trade fair "Ideas - Inventions - New Products" iENA 2023 took place from Saturday 28 to Monday 30 October at the Nuremberg Trade Fair Centre and celebrated its 75th anniversary this year. For three days, iENA showcased inventions from around the world. China was a partner of this year's edition - the Chinese Association of Inventions (CAI), together with other Chinese inventive institutions, brought numerous innovations from China to Nuremberg.

More than 500 inventions were presented to industry audiences in Nuremberg during iENA, and inventors and creators from all over the world were expected in Nuremberg. Collectives from countries such as Egypt, Angola, China, Iraq, Lebanon and Poland participated at iENA 2023.

For inventors, the trade fair in Nuremberg was an opportunity to network with potential investors and licensors and present innovations in personal talks. In addition, iENA provided technical information: the German Patent and Trademark Office DPMA provided high quality information on patent and trademark rights, and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, the European Union Intellectual Property Office and Bayern Innovative were there as partners. The German Inventors' Association DEV was the contact person for inventors and offered initial information as well as exchange opportunities. In addition to numerous international participants, national inventors' clubs and collectives, as well as private inventors, including the FörderkreisIngenieurstudium of the Technical Faculty in Erlangen, also presented themselves at iENA.

The international trade fair "Ideas - Inventions - New Products" iENA celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2023. Over three days, 500 inventions from around 30 countries were presented in Nuremberg. For many inventors, the next steps in innovation development were taken at the fair. The most promising inventions were honoured with the prestigious iENA medal.

The inventors participating in iENA generated a lot of media attention with their ideas. The best inventions were honoured with medals at a ceremony on the last day of the fair. Exhibitors at iENA included individual inventors, inventor collectives and companies, as well as the German Patent and Trademark Office and its partners, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, the European Union Intellectual Property Office and Bayern Innovativ. The German Inventors Association (DEV) also attended iENA as a contact point for inventors and offered initial information and networking opportunities. At the iENA Forum, topical issues and assistance for inventors were on the agenda. The forum also gave inventors the opportunity to present their innovations.

For many inventors, participation at this year's iENA in Nuremberg was very successful. Wolfgang Müller, director of the Steinbeis Transfer Center Infothek, was in the Steinbeis Lounge at iENA with many inventors: "Overall, we can look back on a successful trade fair - our goals were achieved. Many exhibitors found cooperation partners and some received detailed enquiries about the volume of their products in the five-digit range. In particular, the theme of product acceptance was confirmed for many projects, and visitors' ideas were taken on board. Negotiations with investors were agreed for the period after the fair."

China was a partner of iENA 2023, and He Zhenfu, vice president of the Chinese Association of Inventions (CAI), personally attended Nuremberg. He opened the 2023 Invention Fair with a welcome, and was very pleased with how the anniversary fair went: "The 75th Nuremberg Ideas, Inventions and Innovation Fair (iENA) is a unique international event dedicated to inventions and innovations. Chinese inventions were a real highlight. As an official partner of iENA 2023, China was praised by the fair organisers and the audience for 80 high-quality innovations from 15 universities, six research institutions and 25 companies. Some investors and companies have already shown great interest in various inventions and their commercial use. In the future, the China Association of Inventions (CAI) will continue to promote cooperation with iENA and provide high-quality inventions and innovations, commercialization of achievements and international exchange services to innovation institutions, companies, universities and inventors in China and Germany.

Congratulations on the great success of this exhibition!
