New data in the Research Infrastructure Centre for Gravimetric Observations (CIBOG)

Added on: 12 December 2024

Research Infrastructure Centre for Gravimetric Observations (CIBOG) was created by the team of the Centre of Geodesy and Geodynamics of the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography in the framework of the project entitled 'EPOS - European Plate Observing System' (acronym EPOS-PL, POIR.04.02.00-14-A0003/16).

The EPOS-PL project was carried out between 2016 and 2022 by a consortium consisting of the Academic Computer Centre Cyfronet of the AGH University of Krakow, the Central Mining Institute, the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, the Military University of Technology and the Polish Mining Group. The leader of the consortium was the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Research Infrastructure Centre for Gravimetric Observations (CIBOG) collects and provides access to gravimetric data: tidal observations, absolute gravimetric measurements and products of gravimetric satellite missions data. Currently, data from five stations, collecting tidal gravimetric data, located in Poland are available via a dedicated website: Borowa Góra (Institute of Geodesy and Cartography), Borowiec (Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences), Katowice and Rybnik (Central Mining Institute - National Research Institute) and Wrocław (Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences).
