Wetlands and people: Intertwined fates - celebrating World Wetlands Day 2024

On February 2, we will celebrate World Wetlands Day!

World Wetlands Day is a global campaign to raise awareness of wetlands. This day is celebrated every year on February 2 on the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands - an international treaty adopted in 1971, which is currently signed by 172 countries.

'Wetlands and Human Well-being' - the theme for 2024 - highlights the interconnections between wetlands and human well-being, including physical and mental health and a healthy natural environment.
