Forecast of cereal yields 2019 is going better.
Remote Sensing Centre monitors crop growth conditions and their hazards. Models of crop yield forecast were prepared on the basis of NOAA/AVHRR satellite data. In 2019 high variablity of temperature and drought was observed at the start of vegetation, next hevy rainfalls appeared at the second part of May (especially in the south of Poland), followed by high temperature at the beginning of June. Yield prognosis which pointed low yields at the start of vegetation became better, although some symptoms of drought can be observed in central Poland.
