Scientists from the IGiK at the chlorophyll fluorescence workshop at the ESA European Earth Observation Center

Added on: 26 September 2023

On September 19-21, 2023, scientists from the Remote Sensing Center (CT IGiK) Marcin Kluczek and Maciej Bartold participated in the FLEX Fluorescence Workshop 2023, an event taking place at ESA ESRIN - the European Earth Observation Center in Frascati, near Rome, Italy .

The visit was an opportunity to exchange experiences and scientific interests, as well as participate in a discussion panel on the quality of global data of solar induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) from the American (OCO-2 and OCO-3), Japanese (GOSAT) and European missions satellites (S5P/TROPOMI and GOME-2) in the context of the next generation FLEX satellite mission. As part of the workshop, in the Ecosystem research session, Marcin Kluczek presented innovative research work carried out in our unit in the field of using machine learning algorithms to model in high spatial resolution the phenomenon of chlorophyll fluorescence in wetlands in Poland. Speech entitled Chlorophyll Fluorescence Mapping in Inland Wetlands through Machine Learning was a synthesis of the current research results conducted as part of Own Research Fund of IGiK and the project NCN MINIATURA5.
