Walyeldeen Hassan Godah, BEng, PhD, Associate Professor

Professor of the Institute at the Center of Geodesy and Geodynamics IGiK. He obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering surveying from the University of Khartoum, Faculty of Engineering, in 2004. He received his master's degree in Geodesy and Geoinformatics from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm in June 2009, where, after graduation, he worked as a research assistant at the KTH’s Faculty of Geodesy until December 2009. In March 2011, he started doctoral studies in Poland, completing an internship at the Center of Geodesy and Geodynamics of the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography (IGiK). In October 2014, he obtained with honors a PhD in technical sciences in the discipline of geodesy and cartography from the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography of the Warsaw University of Technology based on his doctoral thesis entitled "Contribution of the GOCE-based gravity field modelling to local geoid determination." supervised by Prof. Jan Krynski. In November 2020, he obtained a habilitation degree in Civil Engineering and Transport at the Faculty of Geoengineering of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn based on the dissertation "Contribution of dedicated gravimetric satellite missions to the determination of geoid/quasigeoid and orthometric/normal heights and their temporal variations". His main interests are related to satellite gravimetry and their use of mass transport within the Earth’s system; the modelling of the Earth’s gravity field and its temporal variations, height system/frame as well as the issues associated with the use of GNSS data for monitoring geodynamic processes.
