Development of methods for detection and monitoring of agricultural drought based on data from a new generation of environmental satellites.

The aim of the project was to use a wide variety of information obtained in the optical spectrum by a satellites of lines NOAA/AVHRR, Terra/MODIS, Terra/ASTER, Envisat/MERIS, about soils and soil moisture, and the use of meteorological data to establishing a system for indicating water shortages in various stages of plant growth and monitoring of the development of agricultural drought across the country and to determine its effect on the crop. The final outcome of the project was operational system of detecting and forecasting of agricultural drought in Poland.
